Update for March

Wow...is it just me or is life just flying by?? So here's an update from us in CO sorry it took so long. Returning from an amazing Christmas vacation, Jeff started the dreaded tax season! He seems to be going into work earlier and coming home later every day, but he loves what he's doing so I can't complain.
I returned to my job at the preschool (oh yeah I don't think we blogged about that either...I got a job at Busy Little Hands Early Learning Center as a teacher/classroom leader for 2 year olds in November). Just a couple weeks after returning the position for the infant room leader became available and I asked my director if I could give it a whirl. Well they put me in there one day and I haven't been back to my toddler room since! I do love taking care of babies all day even though I think I've changed enough diapers and made enough bottles to call myself a pro (even though I'm not a mom yet).
ANYWAY, so both me a Jeff returned to working full-time and relaxing when we get home in the evenings. For my birthday Jeff bought me a beautiful dress and necklace and took me to one of our favorite Italian restaurants for dinner, Maggianos (so GOOD!) We came home and relaxed a little b/c we both had to work the next morning.
The following weekend my best friend Emily visited from WA and we go to go out for my "birthday" dinner at Macaroni Grill, and for birthdays they have a singer come out and sing "Happy Birthday" in Italian to me. He was pretty good and it sounded so beautiful in Italian (much better than the embarrassing "Happy, happy birthday" song).
Two weeks after Emily came, my younger siblings came out from UT for Presidents Day weekend. Sean fixed up our car that was having oil leaking issues and we headed to 16th St. Mall for the afternoon on Saturday. While at 16th St Mall we found those cool Chess tables, saw a guy paint a beautiful picture of the Egyptian Pyramids (with nothing but spray paint, paper, and tape), and met a Transformer dude who thought Sean looked like Anikan Skywalker and Jeff looked like the Verizon Wireless "Can you hear me now" guy (which he does with his new glasses). We mostly window shopped, and enjoyed the feel of the city. Afterwards we headed to Red Robin for dinner and then just relaxed the rest of the weekend until they had to head home Monday morning. Thanks for coming Jennifer, Jessica and Sean!!! We love to have visitors!
We have been planning on buying a home before April to take advantage of the Home Credit this year and met with a Realtor we really, really like and who seems to know what he's doing (since we don't!). This last weekend we got to go look and some houses in our price range and I was surprised at how big and nice a home we could get. We saw about 8 houses and I found one I liked a lot, but after doing some more research on returning home realized that there were plenty more homes like the one I liked out there. We are planning another venture with our Relator a week from Saturday, and who knows maybe we'll find our first home then!
Well, that's pretty much it for us, our lives are pretty great I'd say and we have so much to look forward to in the near future!!

  1. How fun! I'm jealous! I can't wait to buy a home! We've been renting for way too long and we'd love to jump on these low prices. Oh well, MBA's calling us for one more year.

Keep us updated! I'd love to see pics of houses you're interested in.
