Why would anyone want to be a Dentist?

I had the wonderful pleasure of going to the dentist today. Always fun.

Anyway, it made me wonder what kind of sick person can smile all day at his clients while inflicting pain upon them. Seriously, as they are using sharp metal objects to inflict (ever so slightly) pain upon you, they just sit there smiling.

And they attempt to make small talk with you as they hold their various apparatus up your gullet.
