So this past weekend I had three job interviews for positions at Salt Lake City hospitals. Two were on Friday, one at 8AM the other at 2PM, and one was on Monday. Monday afternoon I get my first phone call telling me that I received the Dietary Tech position at the LDS hospital. It's full-time and has benefits, but I didn't accept the position immediately b/c I felt really good about the interview I had that morning for the part-time Orderly at Intermountain Medical Center. Less than an hour later I get another phone call from a different HR rep offering me both the part-time and full-time Orderly positions at the Murray hospital! I was so overwhelmed! It felt quite the opposite of just a few months ago when I couldn't even get interviews let alone a great job. I feel so blessed to be able to choose a job that I want. That leads to my next problem though, I wanted to do both the full-time jobs! I didn't think it would be as hard as it was, taking into account the pay, hours, weekends...etc, but it in the end I took the Orderly* position and am going to work in the Same Day Surgery dept. It is M-Th 7am-5pm and I don't have to ANY weekends or holidays! The only downside is I have to get the train to take me to work by 5:45am which means getting up at 5am!!! And as you know that is REALLY early for me to be coherent. But I know that I will eventually get used to it and as my mom so nicely puts "at least it will get you up and going for the day!" Love you mom! So I am extremely happy to have such an awesome job that will keep me busy over the summer and that I will gain so much great medical experience from and hopefully it will push me in the direction of nursing soon!
*For those who don't know an Orderly is the person who transports patients within the hospital, they also man the desks, stock supplies and help the nurses when they can.
I so happy that you'll be busy. Of course I'm a little bummed that I can't call you as often during the week, but more excited that your hard work paid off. When do you start?
ReplyDeleteHooray, Sharee! Tha is so awesome. I'm so happy for you and they are so lucky to have you. Maybe you'll start enjoying waking up early. I know it's my favorite time of the day. Congratulations! Love, Holly
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is so great!
ReplyDeleteFor those of you wondering, Sharee starts the first week of May
ReplyDeleteso Jeff just let us know that you guys have this new blog. I like it. Congrats on the job.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! Good for you. If its any consolation, i don't think anyone likes getting up at 5am. I'm with your mom on the at least its getting you out of bed - I have sleeping in only to find out that I wasted so much time. Have fun inthe hospital!
ReplyDeleteSo, thanks for letting us know you have a blog!!! We didn't know until tonight when Jeff told us on our blog that you have a blog. Good one. We keep on looking at that other blog blackhouse.whatever....
ReplyDeleteWe finally saw Twilight as well. And honestly, if Cedric Diggory looked a little better [seriously] and there weren't so many corny, cheesy lines - it would have been a pretty good movie. It still was decent. Can't hollywood take a sappy book and make the movie unsappy? They make bad movies out of good books all of the time - they should just do it the other way around, right?
Well, good to finally see your blog!
lol - are you implying that twilight is a bad book, brigg?
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Sharee!! I knew your time would come- too bad its only temporary! This will get your foot in the door for when you go to Colorado!
